Change Keyboard output in Linux

setxkbmap fr

Cracking passwords with Kali Linux for the Ethical Hacker.

cat /etc/passwd

cat /etc/shadow

this file contains the hashed password, which is the output of the hashing algorithm used to decrypt passwords.

unshadow /etc/passwd /etc/shadow > password.txt

We merge both files to match users and hashed passwords.

less password.txt

Now, we need a reference file that contains a word lists to compare the hash.

Open a web page and search for, openwall wordlists where you can download a wordlist file or you can use a dictionary.

There is already a wordlist with kali linux.

cd user/share/wordlist

cp rockyou.txt.gz ~

cd ~

gunzip rockyou.txt.gz

less rockyou.txt.gz

Bug Karma: Eclipse exit code = 13

Problems may came from:

  • The value must be the full absolute path to the Java executable, not just to the Java home directory.
  • The -vm option must occur before the -vmargs option, since everything after -vmargs is passed directly to the JV
